Calvary Present in Every Holy Mass

✝

The Holy Mass Crucifix brings together the Sacrifice of Christ on Calvary and the Holy Eucharist in one sacred image.

Christ upon the Cross stands at the center, surrounded by the signs of the Eucharist — the Host, the chalice, the wheat and the grapes — reminding us that the Sacrifice of Calvary and the Sacrifice of the Mass are inseparably united.

The Symbols of the Holy Mass Crucifix

The Host and IHS proclaim the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. The name of Jesus stands above the Cross as the center of Eucharistic faith.

The Wheat and Grapes represent the bread and wine offered at the altar, which become the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

The Chalice recalls the Precious Blood of Christ, poured out upon Calvary and made sacramentally present upon the altar.

Christ Crucified remains at the heart of the design, reminding us that every Holy Mass makes present the one Sacrifice of Christ offered upon Calvary.

Christ and the Priesthood — In the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the priest acts in persona Christi — in the person of Christ. As alter Christus, “another Christ,” the priest offers the Sacrifice through which Christ's one Sacrifice of Calvary is made sacramentally present upon the altar. Through the consecrated hands and ministry of the priest, Christ Himself remains the principal Priest and Victim of the Holy Sacrifice.

“Those who read this book by Roger LeBlanc will begin to realize about half-way through their reading that the author has pulled off the almost impossible. He has handled and treated the most explosive (and for believers the most exasperating) element in Christianity today, but has done so with all the calm skill, technical accuracy and mental balance that we associate with those who have to work with nitroglycerine...”

73 Reasons to Reject Sola Scriptura and the Holy Bible Easy Button

By Roger LeBlanc

73 Reasons to Reject Sola Scriptura and the Holy Bible Easy Button examines the doctrine of Scripture alone and presents a wide-ranging case for why the Bible cannot properly be separated from the authority, teaching, and tradition of the Church.

Through Scripture, history, and reason, the book challenges the idea that individual interpretation of the Bible can serve as the sole rule of Christian faith and considers the consequences that follow from that principle.
